Collection

The Library continually develops and explores its stock and is at service with its collection for the users in accordance with the teaching and development aims of the College. Based on the requirements of the users it gives information about the library, the library documents and the services. It provides access to its own and other libraries' databases and services. The Library spends about HUF15 million a year on the development of its stock including HUF8 million spent on subscriptions to foreign printed and electronic magazines. Its collection covers the literature of sciences taught and researched at the College. Its aim is to collect the widest possible range of carefully selected literature available in Hungarian and in foreign languages as well. Besides traditional documents there is a growing number of electronic documents, as well. In the special libraries 70% of the stock is available on open shelves, which makes the stock on loan easily manageable. It explores the stock applying the ALEPH integrated library system where the complete stock can be retrieved with the OPAC module via the Internet or the Intranet of the College.
